Match Details:

Super 50 Cup, 2019

CCC vs LEI, Group A

Warner Park (Basseterre), St Kitts

11 PM IST

(West Indies cricket will live stream the game on YT & their website)

Preview:

The two teams are in the same group again, like the last season but are not the same sides that played last year.

The defending champions have lost their nucleus of the side that won them the tournament, CCC are missing 9 players from the title winning squad, which of course, doesn’t mean they are not a good side anymore. But now, they are heavily dependent on a few individual performances as most of their players are inexperienced at this level or haven’t played in the last couple of seasons.

Leeward Islands too, have lost Joseph, Cottrell & Walsh, but they still have a lot of experienced guys, especially in the batting department including Thomas, Hamilton & Powell.

Weather report:

All good for a full game.

Pitch report:

You don’t see too many high scoring games in the Super 50 competition due to the conditions in the Caribbean but Warner Park has a much better surface than some of the other grounds.
Last few games at the venue (in CPL) have been good for batting  (in terms of the average score here) but still going by the combinations of both the sides & their strength & weaknesses, you shouldn’t expect a very high scoring total in this game.

Combined Campuses & colleges marooners:

Carlos Brathwaite (c) , Kyle Corbin (vc), Jonathan Drakes , Akeem Jordan , Romaine Morris , Ojay Shields, A Mansingh S Henry, Odain McCatty , Paul Palmer, Kavesh Kantasingh, Jarlarnie Seales, Larry Joseph, Akshaya Persaud

Leeward Islands:

Jahmar Hamilton – Captain
M. Hodge, Keacy Carty, Yannick Leonard, Devon Thomas, R Cornwall, Kezron Archibald, Kieran Powell, Sheeno Berridge, Jeremiah Louis, Akeem Saunders, Terrance Warde, Amir Jangoo, Jason Campbell

Top Picks:

Rahkeem Cornwall: The man who needs no introduction now, after his test debut against India, is in a scintillating form with the bat. Cornwall after a good CPL season has just scored a ton in the LICB 50 over competition & is picking wickets for fun. Without a doubt, he’ll be my fantasy captain.

Carlos Braithwaite: Carlos’s form in the recent time, has been pretty hot & cold. He did had a couple of good games in the CPL, but failed badly in rest of the tournament. His allround qualities still makes him a must have pick at this level.

Akeem Jordan: The highest wicket-taker of the last year’s 50 overs competition has come a long way, representing the WI-A side & also playing in the CPL, this year. The youngster will be leading the bowling attack of the CC&C this season & should be aiming to repeat his last performance in the tournament.

My Dream11 Team:
